The girl and I broke up when I was in jail.

It's a story about my parents, prison and my come-out. Many of me have been asked to write about how my parents reacted to being detained, how we communicate now.
The first day after the detention, that is, before coming to the investigator's office, I was not allowed to call. When the lawyer came, I called my girlfriend and asked me to dial my mom, give me a lawyer's number. To be honest, I was just scared to dial my mom and tell her about it in person.
After a few days at the IVS there was a measure of restraint, my father's friends and my girlfriend came to the court. I have no relatives in Moscow and no one else had to help me there.
The next time I contacted my mom, I only got in after a week of quarantine when I went into the cell.
During this time my father, who was vacationing in Jordan, flew to Moscow. The investigator showed screenshots of correspondence, photos and other materials from the phone that are not related to my case. I'm very sad that a grown man can do that. That's how my father found out I was a lesbian. That was my fireplace - out.
After that, we don't talk to Dad anymore. He didn't help me all my time. Living in the same city, we no longer meet and keep in touch. Unfortunately, the prison hurt him much less than my love for girls.
My mother lives in Kharkiv, she came to every court session in Moscow, came to the broadcast in Kolchugino (Vladimir region), went on dates to the camp, wrote me letters and ordered books through O'ON :) Of course, she paid for a lawyer and did everything to make my term as acceptable as possible and I didn't need anything.
After her release, she took me from Vladimir and brought me back to Ukraine. We have a good, warm relationship and no secrets from each other. I think it was harder for her than me. And I am immensely grateful to her for her patience, strength and ability to love me against the contrary, accepting who I am.
The girl and I broke up when I was in
jail. That's how I found out that when you end up in prison, not everyone you expect to support is willing to provide it. But it is everyone's personal choice. All people are different and this makes the world richer :)
